Director Mani Ratnam’s Ponniyin Selvan shooting is currently progressing at a brisk pace in Orchha, Madhya Pradesh. Recently, a photo of Aishwarya Rai Bachchan’s look from the film sets was leaked online. As reported earlier, Aishwarya Rai will be seen playing two roles – Nandini and Mandakini Devi. In the leaked photo, Aishwarya can be seen dressed in a bright pink silk saree with heavy jewellery.


Aishwarya Rai Bachchan has been shooting for director Mani Ratnam’s Ponniyin Selvan for the past few weeks. Last month, she met Varalaxmi Sarathkumar and her sister Pooja in Pondicherry, where a few important sequences were shot.

Recently, a photo of Aishwarya Rai Bachchan decked up in a pink silk saree has found its way to the internet. She can be seen wearing heavy jewellery for the scene. She is surrounded by her assistants and the film’s crew as they get ready for the shot.

Currently, the team of Ponniyin Selvan is shooting in Orchha, Madhya Pradesh. Chiyaan Vikram has joined the shoot recently. Jayam Ravi, Karthi, Trisha and Prakash Raj are part of the ongoing schedule.

Ponniyin Selvan is based on the novel of the same name written by Kalki Krishnamoorthy. The film chronicles the life of Nandini, who plots the fall of the Chola dynasty. Nandini is the wife of Periya Pazhuvettaraiyar, played by Sarathkumar.

Ponnniyin Selvan boasts of an ensemble cast including Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Chiyaan Vikram, Trisha, Jayam Ravi, Karthi, Prakash Raj, Jayaram, Prabhu, Aishwarya Lekshmi, Sobhita Dhulipala, Lal and several other actors. AR Rahman is composing the music for the period film.
