How to watch Novak Djokovic vs. Daniil Medvedev: Time, TV schedule, live stream for 2021 US Open final

After a Saturday that saw the first qualifier — man or woman — win a Grand Slam tournament when Emma Raducanu captured the women’s title, Sunday could serve up a double-dip of history at the US Open.

World No. 1 Novak Djokovic enters his final match against Daniil Medvedev with two historic moments ready to happen. The 34-year-old Serbian star needs one win to break a three-way tie with Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal for most men’s singles Grand Slam titles. They are tied at 20. He’ll also finish off the first calendar Grand Slam since Steffi Graf in 1988.

“I’m hugely inspired and motivated by that, no doubt,” he said before the tournament began. It has been 33 years since Graf and 52 since the last man, Rod Laver, accomplished the feat.

The final won’t be a walkover for Djokovic. He’ll be facing the No. 2-ranked Medvedev. The Russian, who was just as excited as every tennis fan to watch Djokovic take on Alexander Zverev in the semis, will be playing in his third career Grand Slam final. He lost to Nadal in the 2019 US Open final and in January was runner-up to Djokovic at the Australian Open. Overall, Djokovic holds a 5-3 record against the 25-year-old Medvedev.
