Tracy Ealdama loves recreating the exterior beauty of iconic stores, diners and other scenes around Toronto using everyday objects like wooden coffee stirrers, plastic bottle caps and barbecue skewers.  “You can find treasure everywhere and make art with it,” says Ealdama who now lives in B.C., and got her start by making a miniature rendition of Kim’s Convenience storefront three years ago.

The self-proclaimed “Queen of repurposing” loves to capture the state of urban decay and now takes commissions from clients who want to honour a building by capturing its likeness in miniature.

“When I’m in my art space, it puts me in a zen state of mind, it’s my form of meditation. So I can go on for hours just creating and my heart is full,” says Ealdama.
